What was originally considered a necessary step for increasing meat yields has now become unnecessary and harmful, reducing the chicken from a living organism down to a set of malleable, removable and optional parts.
Eventually we'll be able to surpass the need to grow whole chickens entirely - growing a complex organism like an entire chicken just for the muscle tissue is wasteful. Why not simply grow the same muscle tissue from cells?
